Levy Nys

Student Research Associate

Levy Nys (all pronouns), born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, is currently pursuing their Bachelor’s of Philosophy in Politics and Philosophy, with a triple minor in Law, Criminal Justice, & Society, Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies, and Korean, at the University of Pittsburgh. They are a student of the Frederick Honors College and have been recognized as a Chancellors Scholar, with a four-year full-ride scholarship. They are currently preparing to apply to law school to obtain their JD.

At Pitt, Nys has pursued research with particular focus on the intersections of law, philosophy, feminist and gender theory, and both international and domestic politics. During the 2024 election cycle, Nys worked with nonprofit Project 26 to register nearly 1,700 students to vote on Pitt’s campus, and is now pursuing their interest in research with the Center for Markets and Governments at Pitt’s Graduate School for Public and International Affairs, as well as working as a UTA for Pitt’s Gender and Sexuality studies department.

In their free time, Nys can be frequently found practicing with their dance teams at Carnegie Mellon and Chatham Universities, creating visual art, and showing off their favorite places in Pittsburgh to their friends and colleagues from out of town.
