Having spent her career as a teacher and administrator in K-12 schools and as a newsroom or creative content editor, Lauren joined the Center for Governance and Markets as a Program Coordinator in 2025. Previously, Lauren earned a masterβs degree in teaching after completing her undergraduate studies in history and English literature at the University of Maryland. Serving in educational leadership and facilitator roles in Baltimore, MD equipped her with a strong skill set in data analysis and community organization. From there she moved to rural Costa Rica, where she spent three years teaching special education and mentoring university journalism students before returning to her native Pittsburgh. Lauren hopes to use the varied skill set she has developed working in diverse communities with varied norms to support the growth and capacities of CGM.
