On Wednesday, March 12, at 1:00 PM in Law 229 (Alcoa Room), Akram Umarov will present, “Regional Integration in Central Asia 2.0: New Crossroads.” This presentation explores the evolving dynamics of regional cooperation in Central Asia amid shifting geopolitical and economic landscapes. It examines new opportunities and challenges for deeper integration, considering factors such as trade, security, and infrastructure development.
Akram Umarov is the First Vice-Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and a researcher at the Institute for Advanced International Studies in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh in 2021-2022 and has held senior research positions in Uzbekistan.
